Until You Die, Please Believe That I Am Your Biggest Fan is a tribute to the hapless friends and family whom Tangiene Pohoko and Linh Truong use as favourite recurring subjects. Many would not have known that over the years, the multiple manifestations of their past selves have been scrutinized, scribbled, digested, spat out, erased, reduced and sometimes even rewarded in the artists’ work. Tangiene and Linh paint what they know and they know some people. Using new painting surfaces introduces unique restrictions and references.
Tangiene appreciates the miniature canvas that is the eraser, recalling her past collected imagery which perpetually expires. Linh uses dishes to explore a circular format and the kitschy, iconic references of commemorative plates and collectibles.
