Without giving too much away,writer Taku Tada and commercial director Gen Sekiguchi’s 2004 surreal day-glo comedy debut offers five intertwined plotlines, including an existentialist hitman, a salaryman who’s the victim of a hypnotist act gone awry, and a woman who keeps coming back from the dead. Featuring fan favorite Tadanobu Asano, familiar faces like Ittoku Kishibe and former pop idol Kyoko Koizumi and appearances by Vinnie Jones and Sonny Chiba, Survive Style 5+ is a thoroughly absurd and enjoyable ride.
