Caroline Ballhorn is a Vancouver-based artist whose practice moves between sculpture, print, drawing, and textile-based work. She has a major interest in paper and all things made by hand, which has evolved into a love of craft and DIY. Her newest work includes a giant hand-cut wooden doily, as well as three-dimensional cut paper drawings. Referencing the vocabulary and tools associated with craft, Caroline’s work draws attention to the connection between labour and meaning as it relates to constructed notions about the feminine.

Twice a year Caroline can be found helping to run an event out of her home called Handmade, a market that focuses on locally produced art and crafts. She supports herself partially through the sale of handmade beard-shaped facial purses.
