Lisa Frank is a show of my best pictures from the last three years and includes a reinvigorated old sticker album that functions as a meditation on the ideas encapsulated in these pictures. They have varied themes and subject matter but express a similar view on life, which is that it should be enjoyed. I make art about things that interest me personally, and I hope that some of that interest stimulates some folks, but most importantly, I hope it inspires people to do their own thing and be free. For me, art is the most free thing to do and I think it is an important card to play in this day and age when simple pleasures are under attack and our rights ate being taken away before we know what they are.
Shawna McLellan is a 23 year old, graduate of Emily Carr and resident of Hasting Sunrise. Her favourite albums are: Roxy Music — s/t, Misfits — Static Age, Joy Division — Unknown Pleasures, Warsaw — s/t, Dance mix ’95, Dance Mix ’93, David Bowie — Aladdin Sane, Brian Eno — Here come the warm jets, Soft Cell, Non stop extatic dancing, Prodigy — experience, T-rex — Ride a White Swan
