Blim Guest Series—Print Jam Session: Beyond Gocco

In this workshop, we will demonstrate and use the Thermal Screen Imager to create screens for printing in seconds, without costly lamps, smelly chemicals or inconvenient darkrooms. Each participant will have the opportunity to make two 8.5″ × 10″ screens for use in the workshop and to take home. Bring your own high contrast B&W designs, choose from our image gallery or draw something onsite. Using the images, we’ll make screens up to 8 ½ ×10″.Each participant can make two full sheets (one 8.5×10 image = two 4″×10.5″ or two 8.5″×5″, or four 4″×4.5″). With these sizes, the class will learn how to very simply mount screens and clean them for later use. We’ll print with a variety of inks and techniques, on fabric and on paper.
Cost of class includes demo and activity plus materials used in class. Participants will take home: mounting frames two imaged sheets of thermal screen. Special freehand drawing pen,compatible with the thermal screen process Ten A2 note cards, printed in class 100% cotton Tee shirt, printed in class (total material value is over $40 retail). Some additional materials will be available at a discounted price for workshop participants.
