Field Guide to November Days

Thursday June 10 | 8 – 11 PM | $8–10 sliding scale

Directed by: Nick Peterson and Mary DeFreese of Sampofilms

Field Guide to November Days follows Matt and Natalie, former lovers who resume their relationship after a chance meeting. Passion clouds their perception and they begin to fall back into destructive patterns. Further complicating the situation, they are each exploring ideas about their own mortality. After time, they agree to separate once again. To cope with the loss, Natalie isolates herself and experiments with a radically different place in society. Matt finds solace in his friendship with Christian, who is gay. Confused by their companionship, he begins to question his own sexual identity.

This is the second feature of Nick Peterson and Mary DeFreese of Sampofilms. It was shot on Super 16mm and filmed entirely by bicycle (except for a single drive to the coast). They are currently kicking off a bicycle tour to screen the film from Vancouver, B.C. all the way to Los Angeles. You can follow their adventures here: www.sampofilms.com/blog.

The screening will start at 8pm and the film is 80 minutes long. If people are interested in a Q and A afterwords, Nick and myself will be available to answer questions about the film and bike tour.
