Blim and Blim Special Guest Workshop present:
Blim Guest Series—Devore(Burnout) Screenprint Workshop
Thursday August 12 | 6 – 9 PM | $60 (incl. materials)
Featuring: Kaytee Kilgour
Devore “to devour” is a method of printing where you screen print a with caustic paste to burn-out or etch designs into cloth. When printing on a blended fibre (eg. 50/50 cotton/polyester) your design will etch into the top layer of the fabric, resulting in a translucent print. This process is often used with velvet pile to create a lacy embossed effect. Or completely burn-out patterns to create the “bullet-hole” look by printing on 100% natural fibres. Printing Paste is including in workshop along with a detailed handouts and recipes. Bring in blended and natural fabrics (cotton, rayon, bamboo, linen, hemp) and clothing to experiment with or purchase from the blim store!
