Silk Painting Workshop
Thursday, February 16 | 5 – 9 PM | $110 (incl. all materials and silk samples)

The class will cover how to paint on silk using two hand painting methods. We will not be using silk screens for the class.
- Dye Painting & Washable resist (leaves a white outline) — SAMPLE 1
- Dye Painting & Gold painted outline (heat set into fabric) — SAMPLE 2

- 2 × silk scarves
- Dyes
- Resist material
- Chemicals
- Handouts and Supplier LIst
We will cover how to mix the dye, different painting techniques, interesting mark making methods, as well as how to set the dye using the steam method.
If you would like to bring a couple silk pieces to sample with that’s okay too, but please bring a maximum of 3 pieces each and they should measure around 8 × 10.
Kaytee Kilgour is a Vancouver based textile artist specializing in weaving and print. Kaytee has recently completed her Diploma in Textile Arts at Capilano University and she is currently continuing her education this at Emily Carr to complete her BFA. Kaytee is eager to share her textile knowledge with the crafty folks at blim!
